Unknown V2 build

Man I've really gone on a rampage about the new Unknown products but check this out.  I just spotted photos of the V2 build in Korea here.  This thing is looking legit.  This frame gets me stoked, and I can't wait to receive my Breakbrake17 Charmer26 any day in the mail now!

Check out more photos of the build here!

Unknown 14mm hubs continued

Unknown Bikes 14mm Rear Hub available now!!

These pictures popped up at Breakbrake17, I don't know about you guys, but I think these are some sexy hubs.  Sexy, beefy hubs.  Sexy beefs.

Be excited to get your Unknown hubs soon people!

Unknown 14mm hubs

You probably already know that Unknown Bikes Company has been working on some 14mm hubs.  Well it seems like they've gotten some samples in from the factory, and they look nice and beefy.  Check 'em out below and head over here to preorder them!

Look how beefy they are! :D

10mm weaksauce

10mm axles are weak.  I've changed so many axles this past year, I can't even recall how many I've changed. I've replaced them so much, and have been asked so many times, that I even made a tutorial on how to replace them haha.  Well this agony should soon be over once I receive the Unknown 14mm hubs to ride.  I seriously cannot wait for those, grinding without worrying about axles snapping must be heavenly.

But for the time being, I'll be running the 10mm axles still.  Just a little bit longer.

Here's a new axles installed.  Nice and straight, for now.

My first dooring incident

I woke up a little late today but managed to meet up with a good friend of mine, Youngwook, for lunch.  We had a delicious meal of Korean food :D and were on our way to the library to get some studying done.  We were cruising down Bloor Street (which is a horrible street to ride..), when a door popped open right in front of me.  I tried to avoid it but there was moving traffic right beside me so there was really nowhere I could go, nor room to stop.  I literally clipped the door AS it was opening and ripped the door off of his hand.  All I remember after hitting the door is being thrown off my bike and watching a truck swerve around me as I was tumbling onto the ground.  Scary shit.

It's been good!

DSC_0325

I've been riding this Allcity Dropout for a while now and it's been real good to me.  I've learned a lot of tricks on it, and it's definitely taken a beating.  As you may know, my Breakbrake17 Charmer26 is in the mail and on its way here to me.  So I took this chance to take one last photo of this bike and move on.  I took this bike apart last night in order to have my parts ready to go on the new bike as SOON as I get it.  I won't have my Unknown rear 14mm hub yet though..  But I'm just going to be using my current 10mm axled wheel for now, it'll have to do for now!

2011 shall be good!

Tom vs. rail

DSC_0282

Ever since getting his Volume Vandal, Tom seems to have been feeling more comfortable with double peg grinds.  One of the biggest advantages of negative BB drop is the ability to do proper double peg grinds.  And Here Tom's having a go at an uprail.

I hate thieves

I really hate thieves.  Please just go away and not bother normal people like us.

Today I biked to a grocery store to get some stuff because they had some sort of a sale going on.  I was in there for maybe 30-40 minutes.  I line up, pay for my stuff (yup, I rightfully purchased my own goods).  I walk out to my bike and guess what?  Some bastard decided it was a good idea to steal my lights.  I don't like riding in the dark without lights.  People don't know how to drive here during the day, it can get pretty scary here.

I've had my lights stolen before too and they're like, the $5 ones..  What are you gonna do with $5 lights that are low on battery..?   C'mon now.

Long time no sesh!

DSC_0011

As I've mentioned numerous times, I've been pretty busy with school lately.  That combined with the fact that it's been stupid cold out, I haven't really ridden my "trick" bike much lately (I know, I suck!!).  Well yesterday while I was working on catching up on missed work haha, Finn asked me to ride with him and it was just what I needed at the moment.  We met up to grab a quick dinner and proceeded to sesh for a while in the usual underground parking lot.

Nice note

I came out of the library today and found a note on my bike's handlebar.  At first I was like wtf..?  Then I chuckled a bit.  There's multiple ways to go about creating flyers, and this may have to be one of the more efficient and fun ways.

Breakbrake17 26" build

So here it is, I'm totally digging it.  I've received word that mine's in the mail!  I cannot wait until I receive it.  I guess we all know what I'll be doing for the next week or so.. Just watching the locations change on the order tracking haha :D

EDIT: I just realized Breakbrake17 has posted up Wonder's bike check.  Check those out for more detailed pictures: http://breakbrake17.com/v1/2011/01/25/bb17-charmer-26-prototype-frame/

Breakbrake17 26" frame sneak peak!

I checked my email this morning and was super excited to see that CogWei had tagged me in a photo!  I quickly checked and it was what I had expected it to be.  The prototypes have arrived in Breakbrake17, the riders should be receiving theirs very soon, including mine!  I'll be sure to take lots of photos so remember to check back!

BE EXCITED!

Oh, salt..

Oops, I forgot to post these pictures!  It just shows the salt buildup on my bike..  SO much salt here as I mentioned before..

Toronto: snow, ice, salt, weirdos.

Guess what's in these two pictures!

ICE!  I know, I didn't see it either.  A couple of days ago the weather warmed up a bit and we got some rain.  That night it got real cold again, and it's only been getting colder and colder.  I guess all the slush just froze..  I found the bigger roads to be absent of these, but some of the smaller streets around my place were pretty frozen.  And yeah, I took my first fall of the season today where that second picture is taken.  When I got up, a nice old lady asked if I was okay.  Then immediately after telling me that's why she doesn't bike in the winter, she slipped as well haha.

Anyways, today was pretty freakin' cold, but I haven't brought my camera around with me in a while so I took this opportunity to take a couple photos while it was beautifully snowing.  Read on to check out some more pictures!

Getting things back in order

I still have to organize the pages on this blog and make them all nice and stuff, I know I haven't been paying attention to the blog recently and sorry for that!

Just to keep you guys up to date.  I should be receiving the new Breakbrake17 frame soon and a few parts from Unknown Bikes Co. soon after..  I'll be posting updates when that happens obviously.

And soon, I should be working on getting some t-shirts produced for Constant Revolution.  Nothing fancy, nothing crazy.  Just something that you can rep this blog with if you wish (it'd be super cool, I promise!)  Hopefully stickers will get done sometime in the near future as well, but no promise on that just yet.

There's no pictures in this post, I know.  But stay tuned, and check back soon for actual cool stuff!  I swear, there's going to be a lot going on in the next little while!  I'm super excited!!

Busy busy busy busy busy

I had a pretty relaxing break back home, came back to Toronto and school started up again at full freaking speed.  I've been buried under a crapload of work already so haven't been doing too much bikes wise.  It's okay though, it's not like I'm missing out on beautiful weather or anything right now: the snow/slush/wind/cold has gotten to me.  Another disgusting fact is that Toronto dumps way too much salt everywhere.  Even on parts that the snow has melted, you see huge chunks of salt everywhere.  It rusts everything, and tastes gross when salty slush gets thrown up into your face.

Here's some rust on my winter bike :(

You can't fully see it in this second picture, but the chain is completely rusted on the inside haha.  It's purple outside, brown inside.

Dirty snow

There was a bit of snow on the ground today, most of which is all melted and slushy by now.  When I came home from class, I noticed this clumpy dump of slushy mess.  It's not even close to white anymore and it splatters onto my jacket and bag too, it's gross!  The worst part about riding around during this season is the fact that all the snow gets dumped onto the bike lanes, and drivers STILL get super butt hurt when you use the lane..  I mean, c'mon.  Anyways.  I'm glad to be inside nice and dry.  Ride safe everywhere, wherever you are!

Gathering parts

Well it has begun.  Yang has told me some dates so I've begun gathering parts for the new Breakbrake17 build.  Tires and a seat?  That's it?  No.  This is just the beginning ;)  I'm super stoked!

Great White North

I've mentioned Great White North before, I've also mentioned that I was very excited to be a part of it. Now I'm going to tell you that I'm stoked about my 'ad' thingy for it.

This shot was taken a while ago when Shea was visiting us and we both totally forgot about it haha. We were planning to meet up to take a photo for the ad but Finn got his film developed and found some nice surprises in there.

Finn's been getting busy getting this thing rolling, so be on the lookout for some material coming your way very soon, and don't be surprised if it's amazing!

Thanks Finn!

Swoophoto: my new photo blog!

Panorama1

I just started a new photo blog to archive some of my favourite photos.  I've been overtaken by this interest in photography as of late, and I didn't want it to clutter up this blog and bore everyone.  If you are interested in photography as well though, and want to keep up with the photos I take, do so by following me on my tumblr!

GREAT WHITE NOOOOOOOOOORTH

Great White North.  I've been waiting for this to launch for quite some time, and here it is.  Finn Zygowski is the man behind all this, so you know it's gonna be sick.

There's a handful of riders representing GWN, and I'm super stoked to be a part of it.  Expect big things!

Keep up with what the Canadians are doing over at GREAT WHITE NORTH (and over here at Constant Revolution as well of course ;) )

West Fixed Gear Jam: March 19th

An event for the FGFS and bike polo enthusiasts!  I do fgfs, and I've messed around with bike polo a bit, and they're both tons of fun.  This event should kick some ass!  I hear the Grime and Wheel Talk crew will be making it out there.  Can't wait to see what goes down on March 19th.  Everyone should try and make it out to this!

Check out the website and Facebook event page for more info!

Swootography

DSC_6831

As you may know, I just recently got into photography as a hobby, and have been loving taking pictures of random things.  After coming home for a bit (to Beautiful British Columbia), I've come to realize that taking pictures of nice things are really fun!

DSC_6842

I may start a separate blog dedicated to photography..  What do you think?  I don't like how this blog has gotten pretty cluttered with so much random topics haha..  Anyways, here's a bunch of pictures I took the other day, enjoy! :)
