Misha and I have been filming throughout late summer and he hit me up tonight with this edit. I'm pretty stoked on how it turned out and had a blast filming and hanging out with Misha. I hope you enjoy this as much we did making it!

Bike check!
I've got a few new Spike components on my bike: hubs/hubguards/sprocket/cog. A quick little bike check video to show that, and some clips from the past few days of riding!
Merry Christmas everyone!

YNOT shop visit
A couple days ago I gave the new YNOT shop a visit and it turns out with the holidays coming up and me moving back to Vancouver right in the middle of it all, that this would be the last time I see the the YNOT crew for an undetermined long amount of time.. It's so amazing to see how much this company has grown right in front of my eyes. I saw Tony first messing around with the idea of some sturdy straps almost two years ago now I believe. And now, Tony, Tom, and the crew have a whole line of bags and straps, with even more things in the works for the upcoming year! Tony's been supporting me since the very beginning, not just through bike stuff, but with wise life advice as well! Everyone over at YNOT are awesome people! I'm surely going to miss them for sure. But I'm sure our paths shall cross again in the future!!
Here's a few pictures of their new shop to make my little story more interesting :P

Quick fall clips
Been getting some clips for a new bike check the past few days. It's been great to not have to be strapped down to a desk cramming for exams for once. Just put some falling shots together for fun :)
Here's a couple screenshots I thought were funny:

Bowling?
Spike parts on ma bike!
Alright, so I've got the new Spike hubs and sprocket fitted onto my bike now, and I gotta say I've been getting nothing but compliments. These hubs look like super beast and unique! The sprocket is also super slim and sexy as well. Also the 1 piece chromoly design is beyond amazing! I've personally never had a problem with play in the inserts from previous sprockets, but I know of a few other people.. And now I don't have to worry about it at all :P
Here's some close up shots:
Spike Y6 33T sprocket

Spike front hub & guard

Spike rear hub & guard with Spike 12T cog on the opposite side

Bike sittin' all pretty

Note: Unknown 14mm hub and sprocket have been super amazing as well and have shown zero weakness. I've just had a chance to run these Spike parts for now, I'm keeping the old wheels and sprocket as backup, or to build up another bike! :)

School's done, bike update.
Alright, I've had one of the busiest couple of months of my life so far, but this semester is finally over, so I can focus a little bit more on bike stuffs and posting updates on this little blog of mine before I head off to Vancouver.
A few weeks ago I received some new Spike components from Yang. I took them over to my buddy Sam at his new shop Chill n Go Cycles, and he built them up to a fresh set of MTX33's.
Brand new set of wheels ready to be abused!
My bike patiently waiting for its new parts
Sam giving it a quick once-over
Sam's chihuahua Tony. One of the cutest dogs I've encountered!
All set to go, being steam cleaned!
Big thanks to Yang for hooking it up with some new components! Also to Sam for getting my new wheels all set to go on such short notice!

Mail day: SPIKE PARTS
I picked up a package today from Yang over at Breakbrake17. He sent over some Spike Parts goodies and I gotta say, I'm super stoked to finally see these babies in real life.
Yang sent over a hubset, hub guards, 33t sprocket, 12t cog, bottom bracket, and a bunch of stickers. I went ahead and took some photos for everyone to see :)

I swear these things look freaking amazing, the one piece chromoly sprocket seems like such a good idea as well. I can't wait to get these on my bike and dialed!
Thanks again Yang for the support!

Reunion with my prototype frame.

I lent my prototype frame to my good friend Misha for a while, and having not much time to ride any more combined with his returning love for rollerblading, he decided to drop the frame back off to me today.
Seeing this frame again brought back good memories! I'm definitely stoked to have it back in my hands. I'll be hanging this one up on my wall :) This frame means a LOT to me. I've had many people asking me to sell it to them, but I will never part with this frame. It was the first frame that I helped design and seeing this frame come into production was an amazing experience for me. Without Yang and the Breakbrake17 crew, I wouldn't have had this opportunity, and I definitely don't take it for granted. Thanks for the continual support!

YNOT straps: theft proofed
On the night of Halloween while I was stuck in the library all night cramming for midterms, my YNOT straps were stolen off my bike. BOOOOOOOOO! I found out at 4 in the morning when I came out to ride over to McDonalds for a late night snack to recharge my brain, and it sucked.
Luckily, Tom was able to link me to a new set as soon as we could meet up.
Now, I've had YNOT straps on my bikes for almost two years now, and this was the first mishap. I realize it's probably just bad luck with some hooligans on Halloween night, but I don't really wanna risk getting my straps stolen again.. So I decided to make these harder to steal.
I melted a hole in the middle of the straps and put a bolt on it. The heads of the nut and bolt are the same size, so you'd need to carry around two sets of wrenches to get these off, so I'd think that they're nearly theft proof haha.

They're tucked away within the height of the pedal itself so they don't get in the way. :)
DISCLAIMER: If you try this, make sure you're in a well ventilated area. I didn't and I have a headache. AND if you messed up your straps, I'm not responsible, and neither is YNOT obviously. :P
